Princess or Cocktail style ring comes from a store in Thailand "James Quality Jewelers".  Marked 18K as well as JJ on the inside.  Consists of 8 firey opals and 17 small rubies.  Bought by a military person probably in the 1960's from James Quality Jewelers in Thailand,  a large shop in Bangkok that specialized in serving the U.S. Military personnel although it was open to everyone. Although "James" has died, I believe there is still a store but now at a different address. The dome part of the ring measures 1" in diameter.  The ring is a size 6 1/2. The stones are all orignial to the ring.  There are some imperfections in the stones noticed if looked under a loupe.  One ruby appears to have a crack but can't tell for sure. One opal has a tiny pit.  The stones are genuine not simulated. We have left the ring as we found it - could use a good professional cleaning.
